Aawaz II Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Partners Network Meeting 8 June 2023, Peshawar

In December 2022 a network of partners was created to sustain engagement in the nine KP districts included in Aawaz II’s first phase (2020-22). Partners that initiated work in the five additional KP districts in the second phase from January 2023 are also included in the network. Omar Asghar Khan Foundation as the provincial lead in KP and the Project Management Unit are also part of the network. Its purpose is to continue learning and sustaining efforts across the 14 KP districts including the programme’s phases I & II. At the second meeting of the network held in Peshawar on 8 June 2023, partners shared information of continued efforts in the phase I districts. In Haripur, the District Forum has been formally notified by the government and is continuing to serve as a platform bringing citizens and government together on gbv, child marriage and social cohesion. CERD was able to mobilise resources for another project by building on work initiated in Swabi under Aawaz II. Sungi included youth volunteers from Haripur in the orientation for staff beginning work in Abbottabad. It was agreed that thematic impact assessments and field-based meetings will help learning and making the network effective. In-person meetings will be held on a six-monthly basis and online interaction, as needed. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Khan Mohammad of CERD that was nominated as Chair of the network for its first year. The Co-chair is Saiban. Omar Asghar Khan Foundation as the provincial lead serves as the network’s secretariat.
